http://www.svr.co.uk/pdf/Special%20Events/SVR%20Spring%20Diesel%20Festival%20Brochure%202017.pdf shows 50007 attending the diesel festival but neither a home fleet or visitor. Do we add it here? Do we add it to home fleet? Thoughts please - thanks--Patrick Hearn (talk) 20:36, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

50007 (and D1015, regarding your other comment) are both regularly included on the "Diesel Loco Fleet Status" summaries on SVR Online, but I don't know whether these summaries would indicate if they were visitors. The summaries do include non-home-fleet locos, such as the pair of visiting Class 20s, but those two are specifically indicated as visiting mainline locos and that they are not to be used without authorisation. Such comments are lacking for 50007 and D1015, and they are regarded as available for SVR traffic use, but I imagine that status has applied to most long-term diesel visitors (e.g. the Deltics over the last couple of summers).
In summary, I think I've concluded very little, except that some locos are visiting, but some are more "visiting" than others! --Danny252 (talk) 21:31, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
As you may have seen on Facebook, Jonathan Dunster has confirmed that 50007 is not currently under an operating agreement with the SVR, unlike other "resident" locos. Another slightly ambiguous comment stated that Kidderminster is "home" for D1015. --Danny252 (talk) 09:28, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Robin has changed 1Co-Co1 to 1 Co-Co 1. The UIC classification and Diesel Locomotives visiting the SVR for galas from which I copied the Class 40 entry both have 1Co-Co1. For consistency, what are we using please? Thanks--Patrick Hearn (talk) 14:41, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

Sorry, spotted one of each and changed the wrong one. 1Co-Co1 is correct (in the UK at least!) for both the class 40 and 44. From Wikipedia: The 1Co-Co1 wheel arrangement is an alternative to the Co-Co arrangement which has been used where it was desired to reduce axle load. Each "Co" bogie has an additional non-powered axle in an integral pony truck to spread the load. As the pony truck is articulated within the bogie, the arrangement is (1′Co)(Co1′) in UIC notation. In passing, I have a reference books which mentions the case where the non-powered axle is separate from the bogie, in which case it becomes 1-Co-Co-1, but either way it wouldn't have a space. Article now amended.--Robin (talk) 15:51, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
