==D2957 319290 in Preservation==319290 was the first Ruston and Hornsby shunter acquired by the S, and is VRSVR, being purchased from B.I.P by SVR(H) in March 1972. Originally the locomotive had no number other than its works number 319290, although it was commonly referred to as the “Red Ruston”. It saw regular use in the SVR’s early days on Engineers’ trains, but now acts as yard shunter in Bewdley Down Yard
For some years the locomotive carried a BR livery with the fictitious number D2957. However in May 2017 it was repainted and renumbered 319290. It is maintained by the Bewdley Carriage & Wagon Department.
