Bridgnorth Boiler Shop

On May 17 in SVR history.

• 1861 William Bache, a navvy working on the construction of the railway, was convicted of stealing a bundle of clothing from another navvy. He was sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment in Shrewsbury gaol with hard labour.
• 1980 The SVR played host to two railtours on the same day, enabling the Bridgnorth PA to announce "The next service will call at Bewdley, Basingstoke, Winchester, Eastleigh and Southampton. Change at Bewdley for Leeds, Keighley, Haworth and Oxenhope."
• 1988 The SVR launched a prospectus for a share issue to raise funds for the construction of Bridgnorth Boiler Shop.
