  • 1990 The Bridgnorth Footbridge Trust launched an appeal to raise £275,000 to build a new footbridge outside Bridgnorth Station, replacing the old bridge which had been demolished in 1976. The Trust's chairman was Sir William McAlpine, then owner of Flying Scotsman. The new footbridge was completed in 1994[2].
