This is an incomplete list of film, TV and similar productions filmed on the railway.

  • Horizon (BBC 1972). Documentary on railway accidents, filmed over 5 days at Bridgnorth, Hampton Loade, Bewdley and Bewdley tunnel, featuring 45110, 3205, 46443, 2047 Warwickshire and 686 The Lady Armaghdale. The latter 2 locations were still BRBritish Rail or British Railways property at the time[2].
  • Steam upon Severn (BBC 1977). A half hour film on the early days of the SVRSevern Valley Railway, produced by Chris and Avril Rowlands who were also involved with God's Wonderful Railway. BFI program details
  • Ian Hislop Goes Off the Rails, (BBC 2008). Ian Hislop looks at the background and impact of the 1963 Beeching Report. SVRSevern Valley Railway locos featured included 4566. BBC programme guide
  • The Golden Age of Steam Railways, Episode 2 (BBC 2012). Programme about the early days of preservation, featuring the SVRSevern Valley Railway and Worth Valley. [BBC programme guide]. A 2 minute extract featuring 3205 is on BBC iPlayer.
  • The Great Railway Cavalcade: Rocket 150 at Rainhill (BBC 1980). The cavalcade included SVRSevern Valley Railway locos. 59 minute video on [BBC iPlayer]
  • Off the Rails, Season 1, Episode 4 (Discovery 2001). Presented by Vice Henderson, the episode featured the 2000 Thomas event, the restoration of 2857 (described as a pannier tank!), GNR 2701 and newly restored GWR 60906 Ballast Wagon. Radio Times Episode Guide

  • The Wikipedia entry for the SVR states that scenes featuring LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway 4MTThe British Railways system of classifying steam locomotives by power using a number from 0, least powerful, to 9, most powerful, followed by either F for freight, P for Passenger or MT for Mixed Traffic. no. 43106 were included in the 1987 TV serial Knights of God, but does not cite any references.
