LNERLondon & North Eastern Railway Ballast Wagon 223162

7 plank wooden chassis mineral wagon No 223162 was built by the LNERLondon & North Eastern Railway at Darlington circa 1936-38 and later converted to an open wagon in 1941. The last user was the British Sugar Corporation at Foley Park, who donated it to the SVRSevern Valley Railway in 1971.

In 1973 it was painted in the fictitious private owner livery of ‘Ynisarwed, Swansea No 557’ for filming of the BBC series "Carrie's War".

As of March 2015 it is on display in The Engine House at Highley, carrying the fictitious number 162 in the livery of the 'Highley Mining Company'.
