Goods Wagons

This 4-wheeled 7-plank Tippler wagon was built by the LMS at Derby, although the precise build date and LMS number are unknown.[1] It was later acquired by the British Sugar Corporation for use at the Foley Park factory where it was numbered 7[2].

The wagon was one of 10 donated to the SVR in July 1969 by the British Sugar Corporation at Foley Park. A further four were donated in May 1971, although by 1990 all but 4 had been cut up as beyond economical repair. In 1971 the wagon was repainted in the fictitious livery of the “Lothian Coal Co., Newbattle. No 37".

By 1990, all but 4 had been cut up as beyond economical repair.[2] The Railway Heritage Register Wagon Survey includes a photo dated August 2010 by Gareth Price of the wagon in the storage area adjacent to Kidderminster Railway Museum, still carrying the fictitious "Newbattle 37" livery. By 2015 it was no longer at that location; the current location and status of this wagon are unknown.
