LMS BTK 26921 is used as the Fund's sales coach

Following the creation of the 'Great Western Rolling Stock Fund' in 1967, the L.M.S. and B.R. Coach Fund was established in 1971. The announcement in SVR News stated that the fund had been "...set up to purchase mostly LMS, but also BR Standard (if deemed necessary) coaches for use on the SVR."[1]

By 1998 the Fund had acquired 4 LMS carriages (2300, 7511, 12992 and 24617) and 4 BR carriages ( 9220, 16267, 25346 and 25498) for ongoing use.[2] LMS Brake Corridor Third 27023 and BR Mk 1 Corridor Seconds 24726 and 24396 were also acquired by the Fund but later scrapped and used for spares.[3]

The Fund donated all its vehicles and merged with the Severn Valley Railway Rolling Stock Trust, now the Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust, in 2007. It is now a department of the Trust. It operates a sales coach at Bridgnorth.
