On June 28 in SVRSevern Valley Railway history.

  • 1964 Arley signal box closed under BRBritish Rail or British Railways ownership.[1]
  • 1980 The 'Severn Valley Invader' railtour from Newcastle to Bewdley was worked between Birmingham New Street and Bewdley and return by BRBritish Rail or British Railways Type 2s 25308 and 25305. 'Peak' 46025 brought the train from Newcastle. 3205 and 7812 took the train on to Bridgnorth.[2][3]
  • 2003 Arley Station was in course of being re-roofed, the work being funded by the Guarantee Company through subscriptions and donations[4].
