His background was in sales and marketing, culminating as corporate vice president of Microsoft, responsible for marketing across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. John helped spearhead the Trust’s fundraising efforts since 2012 with commendable success, raising £5million.
John sadly passed away in hospital in on 28 April 2020 following a short illness<ref>[https://www.svrlive.com/blmay20 Branch Lines May 2020], "A tribute to John Leftwich"</ref>.
