  • 1970 The Light Railway Order granted to BRBritish Rail or British Railways was published. This enabled the SVRSevern Valley Railway to apply for their own Order to take over and operate the newly created Light Railway.[1]
  • 1971 GWR Hawksworth First Sleeper 9082 arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway from Didcot.[2] It departed in 2005.
