Hanover Street was a 1979 Columbia-EMI-Warner Anglo-American wartime romantic film starring Harrison Ford, Lesley-Anne Down and Christopher Plummer.
[[LMS Ivatt Class 2 46443]] was used in filmingfilmed, disguised as a continental locomotive (repeating a role from [[The Seven-Per-Cent Solution]]). <ref>GM [[Michael Draper]], SVR News 47, p.5.</ref> Around 300 tons of ballast were purchased at the film company's expense, and spread on the track near Knowlesands and Foley Park tunnels to enable a motor cycle stuntman to ride along the track.<ref>Permanent Way Dept Notes,SVR News 47 p.25.</ref>  It is uncertain whether this action was used in the final cinema release.
