GWRGreat Western Railway 99965 Open 'C' Goods Wagon

99965 was built at Swindon in 1927 to Diagram O19, Lot 971. It is a 25 foot 4-wheel 4-plank open wagon with a capacity of 14 tons, designed to carry steel pipes. It originally had the telegraphic code 'Open C', later re-coded ‘Tube’ during the 1940s.

After service with the GWRGreat Western Railway and BRBritish Rail or British Railways(W), 99965 was moved to Internal UserRolling stock used for the railway’s internal purposes (stores etc.) at one fixed location. duties at the Wolverton Carriage Works as number I/U 023308. It was acquired for preservation from there, arriving on the SVRSevern Valley Railway on 5 May 1998. It is owned by The GWR 813 Preservation Fund.
