Although the GWRGreat Western Railway registers held at the National Railway Museum record this crane as being built in 1892, the register also states that it was rebuilt from a broad gauge crane of unknown build date inherited from the Cornwall Railway when it was incorporated in to the GWRGreat Western Railway in 1889.
