Although the GWR registers held at the [[National Railway Museum]] record this crane as being built in 1892, the register also states that it was rebuilt from a broad gauge crane of unknown build date inherited from the Cornwall Railway when it was incorporated in to the GWR in 1889. This make it one of the oldest GWR vehicles in preservation.
