GWRGreat Western Railway Fruit C Van 2815 was built at Swindon in 1937 as lot number 1606 to diagram Y9, the last GWRGreat Western Railway diagram to feature DCIII brakes. It was numbered 70843 in the goods series and later 2815 in the 'Brown vehicle' series, being vacuum fitted for running in passenger services as Non Passenger Carrying Coaching Stock. It also carried departmental number DW150343.

2815 was formerly at Rowden Mill station in Herefordshire, where it had been preserved since 1989. It was purchased on behalf of Hampton Loade Station Fund in September 2015 for static use as a store at Hampton Loade, arriving at Kidderminster by road in November 2015.
