GWRGreat Western Railway 14428 Open Wagon (Signal Dept)

14428 is a 2-plank long wheelbase open wagon, built at Swindon in 1921 for use by the GWRGreat Western Railway Signal Dept. It was used for transporting signal posts and similar equipment.

It was purchased in 1972, arriving on the SVRSevern Valley Railway in May from Danygraig (near Swansea). After re-painting it was put straight into service. It received a major re-build in 1992. It is owned by The GWR 813 Preservation Fund.
