I've described this to the best of my ability. I'd appreciate if someone who actually knows about signals could check it.

Not all of the distants are fixed - the one for the Down Main is North's Down From Kidderminster Distant. If you look closely you can see that it's the only one with a normal two-lens spectacle plate.

I won't edit the page because as I've never been in South box myself I'm not 100% sure of the right answers, but I think you've misnamed a few signals. Bear in mind the names below are what I think they probably should be, but you need someone who's seen South Box's lever leads to tell you for certain. The two Up signals you describe both signal trains from the Back Road - the Kidderminster one is off for your move, as you know, and the other is the Up Back Road To Hartlebury Home. Confusingly, although they're "platform starters" colloquially, in the signalling regulations they are Homes, because Bewdley platforms 2 and 3 are within the block section. The Up Main Homes are mounted on the far right-hand side of the line with respect to the trains, so are out of view on the left in the picture. You've got the meaning of the Down signals correct as far as I'm aware, apart from the one you missed out for the Rock Siding. --WillSalt (talk) 18:01, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for that, I should have realised one of the distants was controlled by North box.
I got confused by the Up signals because the diagram shows them as on the end of the island platform, between the Up Main and Back Road, yet they are actually between the Back Road and Rock Siding. Is there no Up Main Home Starter protecting point 15?
I did have a plan to do a signal by signal, driver's eye view sequence of photos showing a full round trip with an explanation of what each signal meant. It might be best if I leave that to someone else.

There are two Up Main Homes (not Home Starters) protecting 15 from movements on the Up Main and also marking the end of the block section on that line, but they are on the "wrong" side of the line, on the far side of the Goods Loop. 29 is the Up Main To Hartlebury Home and 32 is the Up Main To Kidderminster Home. --WillSalt (talk) 07:30, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
