The SVR Main Web Site is primarily aimed at the travelling public. It includes all the latest news relevant to that sector, including details of forthcoming events, timetables, locomotive rosters, ticket sales and so on.

Celebrating 50 years since the formation of the SVRSevern Valley Railway

2015 marks the 50th anniversary of beginning of the Severn Valley Railway in preservation. Details of events that have already taken place can be found in the 2015 history page. Forthcoming events include the following:

  • Tornado: 60163 Tornado will visit the SVRSevern Valley Railway in October, hauling public trains on October 10th & 11th, 17th & 18th, 24th & 25th.
  • Manor 50: November 14th-15th. In conjunction with The Erlestoke Manor Fund, 7802 Bradley Manor, 7812 Erlestoke Manor and guest 7820 Dinmore Manor will be running in a recreation of the Cambrian Coast Railway of 1965.

Other news

Flying Scotsman: This iconic loco will be one of the star attractions at the 2016 autumn Steam Gala from September 22nd-25th.
