Carriage Type RF signifies a Restaurant First class carriage, also known as a 'kitchen diner'. Unlike the Restaurant First Open (RFO), this class of carriage included a kitchen as well as the seating and tables for first class passengers. In the typical GWRGreat Western Railway configuration, the coach would be paired with a third class 'restaurant trailer'.
