Carriage type CZ (Composite 6-wheeled) designates a non-corridor carriage with compartments for the use of more than one class of passenger. The suffix 'Z' denotes a 6-wheeled vehicle. Barry Railway Carriage was built as a 6-wheeled carriage hence the use of this code, although the present restoration incorporates a replacement 4-wheeled underfame for which the equivalent carriage type would by 'CY'.
