Several coal merchants and other businesses had offices or depots at SVRSevern Valley Railway stations. This list also includes goods agents and independently run refreshment rooms.

The dates refer to the earliest and latest known references.

Insurance agents

The first accident insurance policies were developed in the mid-1800s to cover railway accidents and steam boiler explosions.[22] Several Station Masters also acted as agents for insurance companies.
