Burlish Road is a fictitious station on the Severn Valley Railway located just to the Stourport side of Mount Pleasant Tunnel. Initially its conceit was that the Kidderminster Loop Line being reinstated in 1984 ensured Burlish Road became a branch line which the SVRSevern Valley Railway continues to use for a sporadic passenger service, the running of demonstration goods trains and Footplate Experience Courses. Subsequently the group decided to prioritise the running of the layout in 1950s guise utilising locally based engines or SVRSevern Valley Railway locos in BRBritish Rail or British Railways era liveries.
It was built by 'Bewdley MPDMotive Power Depot O gauge modellers', a group made up of SVRSevern Valley Railway volunteers, mostly from Bewdley MPDMotive Power Depot, and exhibited for the first time at the 2019 Open House Weekend.
Originally a 20' layout, it was extended to 24' for The Great British Model Railway Show on 9-10 November 2019, where it won the Best in Show award[1][2].
