81013 in service and preservation

Full Gangwayed Brake (BG) 81013 was built at York in 1956 to diagram number 711 of lot 30173.[1] At some point before withdrawal by BRBritish Rail or British Railways it was renumbered 84013. It arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway from Ely in November 1987 having been acquired by SVRSevern Valley Railway(H).[2]

It was re-modelled and repainted in 2011, including removal and plating over of two pairs of double doors on each side. It is in Post Office Maroon livery, and is normally stored at Kidderminster, being used as Santa's Grotto at Arley during December. It is owned by SVR(H).
