BRBritish Rail or British Railways Gangwayed Full Brake 80776

BRBritish Rail or British Railways Mark 1 Gangwayed Full Brake (BG) 80776 was built by BRCWBirmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company in 1956 to diagram number 711 of lot number 30140.

80776 arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway in November 1986 from Bristol. It was heavily rebuilt with components from Open Seconds and Corridor Seconds to achieve a conversion to a passenger carrying vehicle for wheelchair users. Seating is provided for 15 accompanying passengers, and a disabled access WC is included. 80776 won the Association of Railway Preservation Societies, “Coach of the Year” award upon completion in 1995.

80776 is normally used in the BRBritish Rail or British Railways Crimson & Cream running set, and is owned by the SVR(A) Wolverhampton Branch.
