Post Office Sorting Van (POS) 80329 was built at York in 1968 to diagram number 728 of lot 30779.[1] It was one of two acquired in spring 2000 from BRBritish Rail or British Railways's Old Oak Common, London. Both were acquired for use on Santa duties at Arley, taking the place of a 'SnakeGWR telegraphic code signifying a passenger brake van' and 'SiphonGWR telegraphic code signifying a milk van' which required a major overhaul.[2]
It is in Post Office Maroon livery, and is normally stored at Kidderminster, being used as Santa's Grotto at Arley during December. It is owned by SVR(H).
