The hand crane and crane runner arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway on 6 December 1982 from Bristol, having been acquired by The GWR 813 Preservation Fund.[3] Both spent some time stored in the ‘Stourport Triangle’, the junction of the Stourport Branch and the present day SVRSevern Valley Railway south of Bewdley. In January 2019 it was announced that the crane was to move to Arley for cosmetic restoration as a static display, while the crane runner will be swapped with a GWRGreat Western Railway flat wagon that will better suit the crane.[4] In March 2019 the crane and runner were moved to Bewdley and in May to Arley.
In May 2019 the GWRGreat Western Railway 813 Preservation Fund expected the vehicle would move to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway[5], although that sale was never completed and by August 2019 it was for sale again.[6] As of June 2020[update] it is under offer and expected to move to another heritage railway once sold.
