Service and preservation

4545 was built at York in 1956 to diagram number 93 (AC204), lot number 30243. It went into service on the Eastern Region in March 1957, where it remained apart from an allocation to the Northeast region between January 1966 and January 1968.[1]

4545 arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway on 14 March 1983 from Neville Hill, Leeds.[2] It is used in Set C, the BRBritish Rail or British Railways Crimson & Cream running set, and is owned by SVR(H).
