BR Mk 1 First Open (FO) No 3109 was built 1961 at Swindon to diagram number 73 lot number 30697.  It was initially preserved in 1984 as part of Waterman Railways charter fleet at Bounds Green.  It was one of three carriages, together with [[Carriages formerly resident on the SVR#Carriages formerly at the SVR but later moved elsewhere | FO 3106]] and [[Carriages formerly resident on the SVR#Carriages scrapped while at the SVR | RBR 1678]], which were acquired from there by the SVR in 1996, initially on lease but subsequently purchased by [[Severn Valley Railway (Holdings) PLC | SVR(H)]].
