On April 7 in SVRSevern Valley Railway history.

  • 1970 The SVRSevern Valley Railway met with BRBritish Rail or British Railways to discuss the price to buy the southern section of the line between Alveley Sidings and Foley Park.[1]
  • 1973 A working party began dismantling Adderbury signal box which was intended to be rebuilt at Arley. It was later brought to the SVRSevern Valley Railway but never used.[2]
  • 1985 After 6000 King George V failed during a rail tour, 4930 Hagley Hall left Bridgnorth to work light engine to Plymouth overnight.[3]
  • 1986 Filming of Central TV's 'The Halt' took place at Arley, renamed Newton Halt for the occasion[4].
