It Third Corridor 26880 was still built in 1950 by BR ownership when it at Derby and was later used as a test vehicle. It arrived on at the SVR from Newport in September 1985 behind the returning GWR demonstration freight train hauled by [[2857|GWR 2857]]1972 and served as a stores vehicle for many years. It was never collected by BR, and after then underwent a restoration which lasted for more than 20 years, finally entering service as a decade was sold by them for scrap. It was acquired from the scrapman by SVR(H)wheelchair-accessible coach in 2012 some fifty years after preservation.
