2501 is now owned by [[The GWR 813 Preservation Fund]]. In recent After several years it has been stored at a private site in Evesham. In January 2019 it was announced that the Fund’s [[GWR 446 6Ton Hand Crane|6-ton hand crane]] would move to [[Arley]] for cosmetic restoration as a static display, while its existing [[BR 707261 Crane Runner|BR-built crane runner]] was to be swapped with 2501, a GWR flat wagon that would better suit the crane.<ref>SVR Wagons Facebook 13 January 2019</ref> In March 2019 the crane and runner were moved to Bewdley and in May to Arley.
