Photograph of Kidderminster mainline station circa 1880, taken from the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) (southbound) platform. The signal box on the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) (northbound) platform dates from circa 1873, while the footbridge and other buildings on the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) platform were added in 1878. The signal box was rebuilt closer to the running line in 1900 to improve the signalman's visibility of the north end of the station.
