This page gives details of locomotives that have visited the SVR for galas and other special events. This is currently an incomplete list.

Early Visitors[edit | edit source]

During the 1970s SVR ‘Enthusiast Days’ (the forerunner of of the modern gala events) were run using only the SVR’s own locomotives, many of which were appearing in steam for the first time. In the 1980s, visiting locomotives began to appear. SVR News did not always link them to specific galas or enthusiast events, merely observing that they visited for a short time. Early visitors included:

1982[edit | edit source]

May 1982 (including GWR Weekend)

1983[edit | edit source]

May 1983
