- 1853 The Oxford Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway opened throughout, including the route through Hartlebury and Kidderminster.
- 1859 An accident occurred in Bridgnorth Tunnel to James Windy, a Railway Navvy.[1]
- 1869 The GWRGreat Western Railway approved the construction of a cattle pen at Highley.[2]
- 1975 A major repair to Oldbury Viaduct began.
- 2007 Santa's Grotto was based at Bewdley, the line north of there still being closed following the 2007 flood damage.[3]
- 2008 GWR 9084 First Sleeper returned to the SVRSevern Valley Railway following substatial contract repairs at Ramparts in Derby.
- 2010 The SVRSevern Valley Railway was presented with the National Railway Heritage Awards FirstGroup Craft Skills Award for work undertaken on installation of the wheeldrop facility at Bridgnorth[4].
