Revision as of 21:33, 6 December 2015 by Robin (talk | contribs) (add category)

GWR 9615 is a Kitchen Diner First (RF) carriage. It was originally ordered in 1915[1] to Diagram H39, but was not built until 1932, making it one of the last Bow-Ended toplight carriages.

In 1932 the GWR introduced a batch of dining car twin-sets, with a Kitchen / First saloon and a Third Class Trailer. While in GWR and BR Service, 9615 was regularly paired with Third Class Restaurant carriage 9627, and both are preserved on the SVR. 9615 later saw Departmental use as No DW 150336.

9615 was acquired by SVR(H), arriving from Cardiff Canton in January 1973. From the mid-1970s it was used as part of the SVR's GWR main line set as well as on the SVR itself.

As of May 2015 it is stored under sheets alongside Kidderminster Carriage Shed.
